We’re excited to welcome Jarek Morgan as One Summit’s new Director of Development. As we continue to grow, building strong relationships and developing new sources of support are critical to One Summit's future. Jarek will lead our development efforts, focusing on cultivating new business and corporate partnerships, expanding our donor community, and identifying opportunities that will strengthen and sustain our mission.
What excites me most about Jarek joining our team is his connection to our mission and the values that have always been at the heart of One Summit. As a Navy veteran, husband, and father, he understands the power of service, resilience, community, and simply showing up for one another. We’ve built an incredible community over the years, and I’m excited to have Jarek help us build on that foundation and create new opportunities for One Summit’s future. I’m excited to join One Summit as Director of Development, but what makes this opportunity special to me goes well beyond the title. I’m a Navy veteran, a husband, a dad, and someone who has always believed that we are only as strong as the people standing beside us. The Navy taught me early that strength is rarely an individual thing. You learn to trust the person next to you, to show up when it matters, and to understand that sometimes resilience comes simply from knowing you don’t have to carry everything alone. Becoming a father gave those lessons an entirely different meaning. And when I began learning about One Summit, I saw so much of what I believe reflected at me: service, resilience, family, community, and people choosing to stand beside children and families through some of the hardest moments of their lives.
James Baldwin, one of my favorite writers, once wrote, “The world changes according to the way people see it.” I think there’s something powerful in that idea, especially here. I’ve spent much of my career helping people find their connection to causes worth believing in, and what excites me most about joining One Summit is the opportunity to help more people see what is possible when they become part of this community.
As the Director of Development, my role is crucial to advancing One Summit's mission by fostering connections and building new partnerships that amplify our impact. This position enables me to engage the community, raise awareness, and secure the resources necessary to support our community during their most challenging times.
I’m coming in ready to listen, learn, build relationships, and help grow what has already been built here. As a veteran, I understand the power of the person beside you. As a father, I understand how much it means to know someone would show up for your child. And now, I’m incredibly proud to be one of the people who gets to show up, too.
